The power of medical cannabis to treat human ailments is no longer deniable. While medical science continues to discover the mechanisms behind it, personal stories of healing through cannabis are being shared across social media.
The most heartwarming one we have seen so far may be the video of little Jackson, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy by the age of two. In a 3-minute video uploaded to the Facebook page CBD Nature, we see his journey from mobile impairment to healing, immediately upon starting a treatment of high CBD/low THC tincture.
CBD stands for cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive ingredient in the cannabis plant. This compound is proving to be no less than a miracle for children suffering from chronic seizures, and is fast being recognized as the most promising treatment for epilepsy.
This healing property appears to extend to other debilitating childhood conditions. Jackson’s cerebral palsy caused this cheerful little boy to be largely unable to walk. He was also diagnosed with chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO), an autoinflammatory disorder that causes periodic bone pain and fever.
In the video, Jackson is seen at 2 and ½ years old, taking very small steps. He is struggling, but so proud and happy, saying, “I’m walking, daddy. See?”
Sometime later, Jackson’s parents are recording him again, encouraging him to walk toward them. “Come on , you can do it,” they say.
But it appears Jackson cannot take a step, saying in frustration, “I can’t.” The effects of cerebral palsy are evident. “I can’t turn,” he says. His mother has to take his hand before he can take a step. Three months later Jackson needed a wheeled walking aid to get around.
“But Jackson has a smart mom who KNEW there was more than could be done. So she began giving him low THC oil made from the CANNABIS PLANT.”
On the very first day—after administering “ACDC coconut oil tincture” at a 12:1 ratio, 10 drops 3 times per day—Jackson is walking up and down the hallway with no mechanical aid. The look of joy on his face would make any heart melt.
At day six, receiving 35 drops of low THC oil per day and 550 mg ginger root extract, Jackson clearly has better coordination. On the same day, he is seen getting out of a kiddie pool and taking 3 steps down, happily jumping onto the grass.
Who could deny this miraculous treatment to children?
Cannabis-derived CBD oil is still illegal in multiple states. 25 states have now legalized medical cannabis, and an additional 15 have legalized the use of CBD for a restricted set of medical conditions. Even some southern states have realized that keeping CBD treatment from suffering children and adults is too great of an injustice.
CBD derived from industrial hemp (such as imported hemp paste) is allowed by federal law, but it does not seem to be as effective as cannabis-derived hemp. An investigation by Project CBD found that “industrial hemp is not an optimal source of CBD, but it can be a viable source of CBD if certain hemp cultivators are grown organically in good soil and safe extraction and refinement methods are employed.”
The answer is, of course, to break down all barriers to legal cannabis. The War on Drugs has done nothing but prolonged the suffering of kids like Jackson and millions of others with debilitating conditions.
